ABSTRACT:
This study set out to create and assess a topical SLN-based ketoprofen nano gel. A drug's topical nano formulation gel was created, and its characterisation factors were calculated. Encapsulated ketoprofen Stearic acid and aqueous poloxomer 188 solutions were used in the solvent diffusion approach with several modifications to create nanostructured lipid carriers and solid lipid nanoparticles. Size distribution, drug entrapment effectiveness, zeta potential measurement, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of SLN were assessed. The optimized batch of SLN gel-encapsulated Ketoprofen was assessed for drug release kinetics. The SLN formulations were created in several size ranges, ranging from 344.3±9.567nm to 684±2.746nm. The prepared SLN was shown to have an entrapment efficacy of 53.78±1.20 to 92.13±1.23% and a zeta potential of -19.0±0.781 to -23.6±0.536mV, respectively. A kinetic analysis in the epidermis revealed a drug release percentage of 17.679±0.214 in 24hours for SLN-based nano gel and 9.773±0.158% for conventional gel, indicating greater penetration of ketoprofen from nano lipid-based gel because of the occlusive effect. Therefore, the preparation is appropriate for providing Ketoprofen SLN gel's long-lasting anti-inflammatory activity in rheumatoid arthritis.
