ABSTRACT:
Lansoprazole is used for anti ulcer drug delivery. It is used to improve bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy of the drugs by using floating beads. When compared to other dosage forms it mainly treated diseases associated with the stomach. The retention of drug delivery systems will be resided in the stomach for longer time. The beads were prepared by using sterculia gum and sodium alginate acts as polymers and adds calcium chloride acts as cross linker. Mainly it is characterized by scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform Infrared spectroscopy, beads size measurement and swelling studies. Invitro release dynamics of anti ulcer drug model lansoprazole from drug loaded beads in different media has been carried out for the evaluation of the drug release mechanism. These are the controlled drug delivery system with prolonged time in stomach.
